I think Lark is dying. I found him all hunched up in the coner of his stall, and he wouldn't eat or drink. I trickled some water down his throat though. Is there any way that I can save him? Or at least make him more comfortable for his last days?

He looks in very bad condition. I think it would be best to put him down, but not without your permission. He is in major pain. Stop the bute and he will most likely never get up again, so stop giving him bute and I'll await your reply.

Ok. I think that if he is in that much pain that I'll agree to putting him down.

1/13/05 Don't worry Dragon you've made the best choice I run and get the "sleepy stuff" and I fill the syringe and I let you have a few minutes alone first... Then I come in and let you sit by his head since he's already laying down. Then I administer the "sleepy stuff". Once he is "gone" I get up "at least he's not suffering anymore." You or I can conclude with LHRS to see where you want him buried or taken somewhere. I pat her on the back and give her a sample of his mane and tail. This won't cost you anything because I know it's hard.

"Thanks," I say, tears coursing down my cheeks. "Was there any way I could have saved him when I adopted him?"

No there wasn't. Whoever had him before the adoption center made his condition uncurable.

"ok. That makes it a bit better, knowing that he was gonna die anyways."
