Cash hs a boweed tendon and he will be here for about 4 weeks. He must go back to the vet in 6 weeks.
The vet's diagnosis was "Apply a ice pack to the tendon and keep it there for five minutes each day. Give him these anti-imflamitory pills, give them to him and the swelling should die down. Also, he should stay in his stall untill his tendon heals. It will be about a month before he is ready to go outside. Wrap the tendon when your not around." I say giving you some wraps. He should be fed 3 scoops of oats and 1 flake of hay once a day."

I unlatch Cash's door and slip his halter on. I put him in the cross-ties and unwrap his leg. I apply the ice pack and rewrap it to hold the pack in place. I groom Cash throughly, and carefully pick his hooves. I comb out his mane, trying to untangle it. I take the ice pack off, then rewrap his leg in a fresh wrap.
I take him for a short walk, just down the aisle and back, before putting him back in his stall. I feed him, and then I throw a couple flakes of hay into his stall. I pet him one last time, and leave him to finish his food.

I quickly unwrap Cash's leg and put the ice pack on. I groom him while I'm waiting.
I feed him, then rewrap his leg while he's eating. I scratch behind his ears before locking his stall door shut.

Cash nickers as I approach his stall. I slip him a peppermint and rub his face. When I hold out the halter, he pushes his nose forward, eager to get out. I lead him to the wash rack and give him a long bath. I rub him down good, getting him nice and dry. When I finish I put him in the crossties to take care of his leg.
I apply the ice pack and rewrap it to hold the pack in place. I groom Cash throughly, and carefully pick his hooves. I comb out his mane, trying to untangle it. I take the ice pack off, then rewrap his leg in a fresh wrap.
I put his blanket on him so he doesn't get chilled and put him back in his stall. I give him another mint and kiss his nose before giving him his evening feed.
