when adopted:
tb, gelding, age 3, ex-racer. Zillion was raced at small tracks at the age of 8 months, far to young. he is lame in left front leg, permanitly and his joins are sore and torn. He may never be able to be ridden. When he couldnt race his owners left in an open field with no water or food. When we found him he was badly dehydrated and starved. There was a mud puddle near by thanks to lots of rain, but because of the rain his coat is rotted away. You can basicly pick of bits of hair and skin. He needs an owner who can nurse him back to health and prepare for the worst...
The vet said:
OK here we go, For his joints, give him a tablesthingy of this joint flex in his feed every day. It should help the soreness go down. He should be on bute too. Give him one in a half tabs of bute twice a day in his feed too. Make sure he drinks a lot of water. Maybe sweeten it with maybe apple sweetener so he finds it more attractive lol. so give him two in a half scoops of grain and two flakes of hay. Then gradually increse his grain to three scoops until he starts gaining a bit. Then start going back down. It looks like he also has rain rot. Put this Ointment on it every day and dont touch the scabs other then the ointment because it hurts him a lot,
